Brandon Jacobs suffers knee injury

Brandon Jacobs suffers knee injury

Aug 19, 2012

Brandon Jacobs was carried off the field after what appeared to be a significant knee injury against the Texans on Saturday night. Jacobs, a former Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, rushed for 31 yards on just four carries in the 49ers week one matchup against the Vikings.

The 49ers have not released an injury update on Jacobs, but it is likely that the bruising back will likely miss an extended amount of time with this injury. We will provide an update on the injury once MRI results become available.

Jacobs was signed this off season to help keep Frank Gore fresh late in games by sharing the load in the run-heavy 49er offense.
