Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe did not show up for training camp today. As reported by Bill Williamson of ESPN.com, Bowe is a franchised player that did not sign his tender, and his absence at camp was expected.
Williamson writes why it is silly for Bowe to sit out camp: “Bowe is about to get a huge raise — and if he plays well in 2012, he will get a monster deal in 2013, whether it’s from the Chiefs or another team. He is not going to gain anything by sitting out. It is just going to alienate himself from the Chiefs brass and lessen the chances that the franchise will feel it can trust him for the long haul.”
Bowe is ranked 53rd overall on our Kramerica Sports 2012 Fantasy Football Top 200 rankings, based on the fact that he does not miss any time. We will track this story closely.
