Hakeem Nicks (knee/foot) will miss a second straight game this weekend, opening the door for Domenik Hixon in all formats. If you’re a Nicks owner, stop reading this, pick up Hixon, and come back.
Go get him.
OK, now that that’s taken care of, here are some pro Hixon numbers for you. He was constantly targeted last week against a pretty decent secondary in Philly. He caught 6 of the 11 passes thrown his way, and playing opposite Victor Cruz should help him maintain steady fantasy value. I’m not buying the other Giants fill ins, and Hixon comes with limited upside, but also limited downside. He is a chain mover who is even more valuable in PPR formats.
I’m a bit worried about Nicks, but am confident that the Giants with be patient with their top target. New York has always been more about finishing with a flurry, so as long as Nicks avoids a set back, he will once again regain value. Be patient on Nicks, and if you can get Hixon, you’ll have one WR worth starting on a weekly basis.
Eli Manning‘s value isn’t affected in a big way, as the Giants have viable weapons to overcome a short term injury. I would expect more completions but slightly fewer yards, as Hixon is not the down the field option that Nicks is.
