According to a report by Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com, the Cowboys have reportedly ruled out Jason Witten tonight the Giants, but he has been cleared to play in week two against the Seahawks.
Witten suffered a spleen laceration against in a preseason contest against the Raiders and has been limited in practice. Florio writes: “As the Cowboys continue guard the results of tight end Jason Witten’s CT scan like it’s the crop report, indications remain that, while fine, Witten won’t play on Wednesday night.”
For those owners that took a flier on Witten, it appears as though the gamble will pay off. Replacement options include Kyle Rudolph, Coby Fleener and Ed Dixon.
