Jason Witten suffered a spleen injury in the preseason opener against the Raiders and will miss the remainder of the preseason. As reported on profootballtalk.com, Witten took a hit from Oakland linebacker Rolando McClain.
According to reports, the team does not believe Witten will require surgery, however, the ten-year veteran from the University of Tennessee did sustain internal bleeding from the injury.
Fantasy owners looking to draft Witten at his current ADP of 73rd overall may want to look at drafting other closely rated tight ends like Vernon Davis, Fred Davis or Jermichael Finely. There is no doubting Witten’s skill, however, it is possible that the Cowboy tight end could have lingering effects from this injury to start the season.
