Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount suffered a left knee injury on Friday night against the Titans. As reported on CBSsports.com, Blount left late in the first half and was getting checked out by doctors on the sideline. Blount finished with just eight yards on 11 carries.
When asked at halftime about the status of Blount, head coach Greg Shiano said: ““I have no idea — I haven’t talked to the doctors yet,” Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano said at halftime. “He was taken in, I don’t know what for.”
It appears as though the running back duties in Tampa Bay will be shared by Blount and rookie Doug Martin, however, Martin has looked more impressive this preseason. The rookie from Boise State is a better receiver out of the backfield, and he excels in pass protection.
*Update*
Head Coach Greg Schiano said in his post game press conference that he does not believe the injury is serious, and that the injury is closer to the groin and not his knee.
