The Seattle Seahawks may be without their starting running back when they open their season in Arizona on Sunday. Marshawn Lynch has had troubles with chronic back spasms this week, putting his status for Sunday’s game in question and possibly in doubt.
The trickle down affect in fantasy football leagues is great, as this could put more on the shoulders of Russell Wilson. The Cardinals defense offers very little resistance, giving the rookie signal caller every chance to burst onto the scene. But every rookie QB needs at least the threat of a running game to be successful.
Robert Turain is the runner that stands to gain value here, as Leon Washington is the only other option and he has proven to be a change of pace back more than anything. If Lynch’s spasms linger, Turbin could easily be a top 20 back over the first 6 weeks of the season, with Seattle facing the Cardinals, Cowboys, Packers, Rams, Panthers, and Patriots.
Keep an eye on this situation, and if you’ve got a roster spot to spare, Turbin is an intriguing add.
