Michael Turner can’t find a rhythm on the field (28 carries for 74 yards this season) and now he is struggling off the field. Less than 5 hours following the Falcons 27-21 win over the Broncos Turner was charged with DUI and speeding, landing him in jail.
I don’t expect him to miss any time, unless the team levies a suspension, but Turner’s stock is pointing in the wrong direction. He doesn’t look comfortable running the ball, and his 2.6 yards per carry drops to 1.8 if you subtract his two longest runs. He is no longer the Burner, and while I think he will continue to get enough work to stay on your fantasy roster, he is impossible to start until he proves his 30 year old legs aren’t shot.
The Falcons schedule isn’t filled with teams that excel in defending the run, so if Turner can get on a roll, he could be a good buy low candidate. But a night in jail after another sub par performance doesn’t give me to much confidence in Turner moving forward.
