Andy Reid made it official that Mike Vick will be the teams starting QB against the Saints this week. If this is a “do or die” week for the reckless signal caller, he couldn’t ask for a better matchup, as the Saints are among the leagues worst defenses.
DeSean Jackson also receives a nice value boost from this news, as Vick is the best QB on the roster at throwing the deep ball. The Saints are giving up nearly 5 plays per game of at least 20 yards, so if you’re ever going to count on Jackson, this seems to be the week.
Vick could be a sell high candidate after this game, as there will likely be owners in your league willing to buy into a one game performance. If he struggles this week, Nick Foles could get his first chance to lead an NFL team. The fantasy potential is always there for Vick, but even if shreds a bad New Orleans defense, do you really want a player who isn’t guaranteed a starting position?
