First round draft pick Morris Claiborne will undergo an MRI on his injured knee. According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas, the former LSU star cornerback suffered the knee injury on Wednesday and didn’t feel right on Friday after a full day of rest.
Head Coach Jason Garrett told reporters after practice: ”He got treatment on it Thursday. His knee flared up a little bit on him so he tried to go in the early part of practice, and we took him out of it.”
Watkins went on to say that the team does not believe the injury is serious.
Claiborne, the number one cornerback prospect in the 2012 NFL draft, is expected to help improve a Dallas Defense that ranked 23rd in the league last season in passing yards allowed.
From a fantasy perspective, a healthy Claiborne and the addition of Brandon Carr could make Dallas a viable fantasy defense this season.
