According to Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com, the NFL and the Referee’s Union have reached an agreement to end their labor dispute.
Per Florio, “Details are still not clear, but Daopoulos says that the much-debated pension issue was resolved with the current defined-benefit plan remaining in place for five years before switching to a 401(k)-style defined contribution plan.”
It appears as though the nightmare for football fans, coaches and players is coming to an end. The question now is how long will it take to get refs up to speed. Florio writes that a crew is already being assembled to work tomorrow night’s game between the Browns and Ravens.
