Veteran wide receiver Randy Moss is listed as a starting wide receiver on the official depth chart by the 49ers. The former Marshall star has impressed 49ers coaches with his work ethic and effort this preseason, and it appears as though his hard work has paid off.
Moss will start opposite of Michael Crabtree, with Mario Manningham and Ted Ginn working as second stringers this week against the Packers.
There is some speculation that Moss will be limited in the number of snaps each week, however, we believe he is still worthy of a play as a low-end number three wide receiver. His threat as a down field receiver should be a nice benefit for Alex Smith, while we believe Moss will be active in the red zone.
