On an otherwise slow news day in regards to fantasy football, I thought it would be appropriate to continue the yearly tradition of covering Andy Reid’s alleged hots-seat status with the Eagles.
After an 8-8 season in 2012, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made it clear at his state of the team speech that he expects more from Reid and the Eagles this season.
As reported on PFT.com, Lurie does not want to discus Reid’s contract until after the season, despite the fact that Reid’s current contract ends next season. According to Mike Florio: “With Reid signed through 2013 and with Reid’s agent, Bob LaMonte, already posturing for an extension, Lurie’s words initially seemed to reflect his intentions regarding the question of whether Reid will get a new deal that applies beyond 2013.”
From a fantasy perspective, Eagles skill position players like DeSean Jackson, Mike Vick and LeSean McCoy will be playing for more than just to win this season, they will have the added motivation of playing to save their coaches job.
