With the loss of Michael Bush to the Chicago Bears, the Oakland Raiders are reportedly showing some interest in free agent veteran running back Cedric Benson.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Raiders could add Benson to act in a similar capacity to Michael Bush’s role over the past few seasons. Darren McFadden has proven to be equally fragile as dynamic for the silver and black, and adding a fairly durable and viable backup tailback like Benson would be a nice move.
The current roster includes Mike Goodson and Taiwan Jones as the two tailbacks behind McFadden, neither of which have proven to be solid three-down durability like Benson. Jones is an explosive player, however, he lacks the size typically required for 300 carries at the NFL level.
