Jeff Demps gave up his chance to play professional football to chase his dream of becoming an Olympic gold medalist. The former Florida Gator earned a silver medal in the London Olympics, and has now reportedly set his sites on the National Football League.
As reported by Stephen F. Holder of the Tampa Bay Times, Demps has hired an agent as is already drawing “significant” interest from multiple teams.
“There’s a lot of interest,” said Demps’ agent Daniel Rose. “We talked to some teams before the Olympics, but we wanted him to concentrate on the Olympics. Preparing for the Olympics is a very regimented process, and he needed to focus on that.
Demps has little fantasy value as of today’s date, however he could be an guy to keep an eye on down the road. He is similar in size to Dexter McCluster, but with world class speed.
