The feel good story of Mike Williams rejuvenating his career with the Seattle Seahawks as come to an end, as the former 2010 comeback player of the year candidate has been released.
Williams, a former star at USC with Pete Carroll, surprised many in 2010 with 65 catches for 751 yards after disappointing stints with the Lions and Raiders. A lackluster second season with the Seahawks that was highlighted by a poor report with Tavaris Jackson, and a broken left ankle resulted in just 18 catches for for 236 yards.
Seahawks general manager John Schneider said in an official team statement: ”We would like to thank Mike for his contributions over the past two seasons and we wish him well in the future.”
