Maurice Jones-Drew has been rumored to be a training camp hold out as he looks from a new deal from the Jaguars. According to Pete Prisco of CBSsports, new Jaguars owner Shad Khan has publicly stated that the team will not offer MJD a new deal.
In a related story, Jashvina Shah of WEEI 850 reports that Coach Mike Mularkey isn’t sure if Jones-Drew will show up for camp. “Every player had to sign that they got the information in regards to training camp,” Mularkey said regarding camp. “Somebody signed at the Jones-Drew household we sent it to. Everybody is aware of when it starts, when they have to be here.’’
Fantasy owners should still consider MJD a viable number one running back, however, this news is concerning and it is reasonable to draft other closely rated players ahead of Jones-Drew.
