Tim Hightower released by Redskins

Tim Hightower released by Redskins

Aug 31, 2012

The Tim Hightower era in Washington has come to an end, as the Redskins have reportedly released the five-year veteran running back.

Hightower played in just 5 games for the Skins before suffering a season ending knee injury. He managed just a 3.8 average during those five games, with just one rushing touchdown.

His release provides a little bit a clarity for fantasy owners, however, Mike Shanahan has yet to announce if Evan Royster, Roy Helu, or rookie RB Alfred Morris will start at tailback this season.

Our money is on Helu eventually winning the job, yet betting against a coach like Mike Shannahan is futile.
