According to Dan Gaziano of ESPN.com, running back Tim Hightower will start for the Mike Shanahan and the Redskins this season if he is healthy.
Hightower suffered an ACL tear week 7 of last season and was replaced by multiple running backs, including rookie Roy Helu and Evan Royster.
Most fantasy football fans will likely take this news with a grain of salt, as the running back shanahanigans employed by Mike Shanahan over his career are well documented. Roy Helu proved to be a very capable back last season, with 640 yards on 151 carries and 3 total touchdowns, and will certainly have a vital role in the Washington offense.
We anticipate a timeshare in DC, with Hightower acting as the short yardage power back and Helu being used as a change of pace. Of course, this is all speculation and is subject to change at any moment with Mike Shanahan calling the shots.
