New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily news that Tim Tebow could be used at running back this week against the Patriots. The Jets are depleted at tailback due to injuries to Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell, opening the door for Tebow to possibly back up starter Shonn Green.
This could be a case of gamesmanship on the part of Ryan, however, Shonn Green owners might be a little concerned about Tebow taking away short yardage and goal line carries. Tebow as proven to be a decent short yardage runner in his much maligned NFL career.
This news comes on the heels of Ryan admitting that he is not as good of a head coach as Bill Belichick. ““I don’t think I’m the best head coach in the league. I think he is. I was truthful about that.”
If only Ryan could shut his mouth and spend more time worrying about how to stop Tom Brady and the Patriots’ no-huddle offense.
