Trent Richardson disappointed some fantasy owners that drafted early when it became known that the first year player from Alabama would require surgery on his injured left knee.
Those owners may not miss too much time from their early round draft pick, as it appears Richardson may be back sooner than first thought. According to a report by beat writer Nate Ulrich on twitter, head coach Pat Shurmur said “Richardson has made good progress & might be ahead of schedule in rehab from left knee surgery.”
Richardson was considered a late first or early second round draft pick by many people prior to the knee surgery, but fell to the third round in most post surgery drafts. There is no doubting that the Heisman Trophy candidate has the skills to be a viable fantasy running back, but one must question if the Browns have the surrounding cast to make him an early round pick.
