Waiver Wire: Week Six

Waiver Wire: Week Six

Oct 10, 2012

Get your week six, waiver wire fix!

—- The ‘your guess is a good as mine’ pick-up —-

Josh Gordon/Greg Little – WR Browns:

Take your pick – Josh Gordon had two catches for 82 yards and two td’s while Greg Little had two targets and a bagel. Next week they have the Bengals at home who just gave up 223 yards to Tannehill. One of them is in for a big day, unfortunately my crystal ball is broken and I can’t tell you which one. Godspeed.  Bengals at home next week.

—- The ‘I got nothing funny or interesting to say here’ pick-up —-

Alex Green – RB Packers:

With Cedric Benson forced to miss a couple of weeks, bring on the back-up Alex Green.  Against the Colts he had nine carries for 55 yards.  Remember, Kuhn grabs carries in the redzone and James Starks is is also pressing to get back on the field. See this as an emergency situation.  At Houston next week.

—- The ‘Giants receiver merry-go-round’ pick-up —-

Domenik Hixon – WR Giants:

As the fantasy season goes on we are less Ogletree’d by guys single week performance and we got to see Hixon in a little bit more of a realistic role this week. Hixon had five catches, on eight targets, for 55 yards against the Browns and with Cruz going off, what’s a guy to do. Lot of dudes running routes for Eli Manning but this guy gets after it. Keep him going till Hakeem Nicks comes back.  At San Francisco next week.

—- The ‘grab me, I’m playing the Jets next week’ pick-up —-

Donald Brown – RB Colts:

I’ve had this guy on one of benches all year and like what he brings, although I wouldn’t mind him scoring every now and again. With 84 rushing yards and two catches for eight yards it’s time for fantasy to take notice. He gets touches and the Colts are coming off a huge emotional win that they will try to carry into next week.  Enjoy watching this team come together a little bit this year.  Next week at the Jets.

—- The ‘been here before, don’t pass me up…before I go off’ pick-up —-

Andrew Hawkins - WR Bengals

With five catches for 47 yards, Hawkins is showing the consistency that we need in fantasy football.  Hawkins has been rolling all year and he is due for a breakout game.

Next week at Cleveland, who just gave up 41 to the Giants, the Bengals need a W.

Last weeks results:

Ryan Williams – 14 carries for 33 yards. Done for the year.

Ahmad Bradshaw – 200 yards rushing and a td with 4 catches for 29 yards.

Brian Hartline – Four catches for 59 yards.

Davone Bess – Two catches for 49 yards.

Jackie Battle – Four rushes for 10 yards and two catches for seven yards.

Danny Amendola – One catch for 44 yards and a near death experience.
